Storage Boxes

When you sit down and picture the most fragile items you have in storage, Christmas ornaments are likely high on the list.  Not only are these items extremely breakable, but they also require storage for at least 10 months out of the year.  Both of these will factor strongly in the ultimate decision of which Christmas ornament boxes are right for your situation.  Other things to consider include the location you plan on storing the boxes of ornaments.  We have discussed in earlier posts about the availability of decorative containers if out-of-sight storage is not an option.  These types of containers may also add a festive touch to the storage of your ornaments, if you choose to go that route.

Generally though, your main concerns will be the fragility of the objects in storage and the duration they must remain in the container.  Various Christmas ornament boxes are available that would like serve the needs of most.  These include simple cardboard boxes and durable plastic containers for storage.  As mentioned in previous posts, both of these have likely come a long way from the quality you’re used to seeing.  This leaves you several options when considering the right Christmas ornament boxes.  If you feel that your long-term storage concerns will be allayed better by moving away from cardboard boxes, then durable plastic containers are a strong choice.  These boxes also offer you the ability to see into the container to determine which ornaments are contained within, which is actually a big bonus.

Even after finding the right Christmas ornament boxes and containers, you’ll still need to properly protect the contents with some high quality packing materials.  This typically includes a mix of bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc.  After all, these boxes will contain the extremely fragile ornaments for 10 months or so, through countless shiftings and jostlings of the boxes.  Proper protection of your breakables never ends with just a container.  Bottom line, treat the ornaments right and you won’t be disappointed when you crack open the box next year.
