Budget home organization can be intimidating, depending on your level of clutter.  The key to any of these projects, though, is to have the confidence to just get started.  Of course, when budget is a concern, you need to have a plan and get started in the right direction.

Your Organization Needs – Any good home organization project needs a thorough examination of needs and priorities beforehand.  This means sitting down and determining which areas of the house need the most help and to what extent you need to improve the organization situation.  You will also want to consider what types of containers you are most likely to utilize.  Will they be hidden in a closet or pantry or do they need to be out in the open and therefore somewhat decorative?  The answers to these types of questions will help determine your starting point and how far you can take your budget home organization project.

Start Small – Getting over the hump of starting a home organization project is all about baby steps.  Sure, looking at the whole project at once can be intimidating, but you are not going to do it all at once, so just focus on what you will start with.  You will quickly find that organizing small portions of your home or life is contagious and will spread.  Maybe you don’t like the clutter or disorganization of your pantry.  Start there with some handy containers like those shown in the image to the right.  Labeling is great, too, for any children (or a husband) who doesn’t want flour on their cereal.  Before you know it, you will be moving on to the rest of the areas of your house that need help.
